"The Teenage Textbook", "Art Studio", "Malay Sketches" and "Karang Guni Boy"—these are just some of the many SingLit titles that have been successfully adapted into theatrical stagings. What are some of the motivations behind these adaptations? What are some of the processes and techniques involved in bringing the page to the stage? How can you get started on your adaptation journey? Hear from three Singaporean playwrights Alfian Sa’at, Jean Tay and Neo Hai Bin at the Page-To-Stage: Adapting Sing Lit to Singapore Theatre panel sharing on 24 November 2021, 7.30pm! Facilitated by writer and poet Charlene Shepherdson, the speakers will discuss their approaches and experiences in creating plays inspired by and adapted from local literature. This panel is presented in collaboration with Centre 42.
